Olive Oil-Infused Recipes for Your Next Spring Gathering

February 29, 2024

As far as we’re concerned, spring starts now—so we tapped chef Melissa Norton for two recipes that would bring a due sense of celebration to a much sunnier season. With the addition of Brightland’s artfully crafted olive oil—which you can exclusively save on when you join The JKH membership—her Basil Sugar Olive Oil Cake (with Rose Chantilly, yes please) and Fennel, Avocado, and Satsuma Salad are worth building an occasion around. For all the details and full recipes, keep reading.

The Spring Mentality

Characterized by new life, bluer skies, and a general sense of awakening, spring calls for dishes that feel brighter in nature. Featuring seasonal citrus and fresh farmer’s market favorites, each of Melissa’s recipes pays perfect homage to the liveliness this time of year has to offer.

An Inspired Set of Recipes

Spring is also a season defined by nature itself—animals reemerge, buds turn to blooms, and we tend to shift our gatherings outdoors. As such, it’s only right that we embrace groundedness in as many ways as possible. In this case—the food we craft and consume.  With a flavorful earthiness that beautifully cuts and complements both sugar and citrus, Brightland Olive Oil was a no-brainer for Melissa’s produce-forward dishes.
